The farce of law’s objectivism

The Court hearing was taking place regarding the proposed demolitions of some luxury farm houses in Delhi which had violated the building laws. The commissioner was asking the court to direct the Municipality to take immediate action. The Court was behaving as though the objectivity of law would be maintained. An ambience was sought to be created in which the poor and the rich would not be discriminated against. The farce of judicial objectivism was being slowly played out as the Court would make its observations as though the rich farm houses will attract the same action as the slums for removal.Anatole France’s dictum that the law prohibits the rich and the poor equally fromsleeping under the bridges was being given flesh and blood by the facical manner in which the cases of the illegal farm houses and slum dwellings were clubbed together.
