Theatre with a visual approach, not a literary approach

Alkhazi as the chief of the national school of drama ,New Delhi was primarily responsible for the trend change in 1970’s-especially how the play would look on the stage, not in the pages of a book.

Shakespearean Theatre is primarily for staging .A fascinating dramatics developed in the Renaissance period with elaborate stagecraft including deu ex machina . In the traditional Indian theatre the typically mythological themes with stylized dialogues and exaggerated gestures and mime are in the same mould. Alkazhi staged his plays at locales like the heritage monuments of Dehi  and some of the photographs published by him are charming reproductions of these plays being staged .
